It’s Time to *Write*

TL;DR - Foster is reopening free, public Writing Circles and introducing new ones with themes. Join us and get some writing done!
It’s been a while since you’ve heard from the Foster collective, and there’s a good reason for that. We’ve been WRITING!
Last August, we began hosting weekly Zoom Writing Circles, our artfully-crafted, 90-minute containers to help attendees drop into what feels most alive to them in the present moment, and write from that place. They came about because of a key insight we had after four years of experimenting with various ways to support writers: while writing in the company like-minded peers is important, doing it *consistently* is where the magic happens.
Fast forward eight months, and Writing Circles have become our signature move – attendees are reporting they routinely help them enter embodied states of flow and unfettered creative expression.
Over the past few months, Foster writers have spent 1,362+ cumulative hours in writing circles, calling them "magically inspiring," "a source of continuous inspiration," and saying stuff like this:
Here’s what happens in a Foster Writing Circle:
For the first 15 minutes, we check in. The facilitator leads the group through a grounding practice, drawing from techniques including guided meditation, somatic experiencing, breathwork, intention-setting, peer sharing, and more.
Then we write together for roughly 60 minutes.
For the final 15 minutes, we come back into the space and reconnect with each other, sharing how the session went and any insights that arose.
We think of Writing Circles as a gift we give ourselves weekly, and now we’re throwing open our doors to extend this gift to more people.
As a bonus, this time we are offering a handful of Circles with themes. So if you’d like to write more but need some help getting back into it, themed circles might be a good place to start.

Letting ourselves play allows us to suspend ourselves from the rules we subconsciously live by, discover new insight, & unfold our wisdom. Play is a doorway to truth - a tonic that lets flirt our way into deeper expression of self.
