Hey Writers,
I love running our Cohorts at Foster.
Cohorts are a simple but powerful month-long communal practice that helps us deepen into our writing and produce a piece of work that stretches us both as writers and as humans. In Cohorts, writers explore a thread—a question, complexity, or muse—that’s alive for them, write from that place, and express something meaningful.
The thing is that it’s hard to truly understand a Cohort without experiencing it for yourself. So later this week, we’re offering a way for writers to get a small taste of what they’re like.
This Friday, 5/17 at 1 pm ET, we’re hosting a Cohort workshop with
called Breathing Into Our Threads. Jonny is the host of the Curious Humans podcast and founder of the Nervous System Mastery bootcamp, and he’s spent thousands of cumulative hours researching, training, and mentoring high performers and professionals on how to better regulate their nervous systems. In this workshop, Jonny will lead us through some breathwork exercises to help us access untapped areas of consciousness and creativity in our writing. As Jonny guides us, we will learn to harness the rhythm of our breathing to break through blocks, unlock new pathways in our brains, and discover connections previously hidden in the shadows of our subconscious.
Whether you're facing writer's block, seeking new sources of inspiration, or simply wish to deepen your connection to your work, this will be a fantastic way to discover your next favorite topic to explore.
I hope to see you there!
Lyle
